Report predicts $1.4bn in OLED sales

According to a report by market research firm NanoMarkets, the OLED lighting materials market will produce revenues of about $1.4 billion in 2015.

The report says the electron transport layer materials will generate the largest sales revenue of $370 million in 2015, while sales of emissive layer materials used in OLED lighting will touch about $210 million.

Low recycling awareness

Research commissioned by the Lighting Industry Federation, in partnership with recycling scheme Recolight, the Lighting Association and leading lamp producers, shows a lack of awareness amongst consumers regarding the requirement for compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) to be recycled.
