Cooper wins standard

Cooper Lighting and Safety has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard.

Covering all Cooper Industries operations in the UK, the accreditation recognises measures including improvement of the thermal efficiency of buildings, installation of lighting control systems and the successful deployment of an energy ‘kaizen’ programme aimed at achieving continuous improvement in energy utilisation.

Low recycling awareness

Research commissioned by the Lighting Industry Federation, in partnership with recycling scheme Recolight, the Lighting Association and leading lamp producers, shows a lack of awareness amongst consumers regarding the requirement for compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) to be recycled.
