Wandsworth signs exclusive deal with Jung to sell controls in the UK

Top German controls manufacturer Jung has signed a deal with British wiring accessories specialist Wandsworth, giving the company exclusive distribution rights in the UK.

The move gives Wandsworth access to Jung’s range of lighting controls and wiring accessories.

‘There are many similarities between the companies,’ said Wandsworth sales and marketing chief Gary Stevens. ‘Both have been around since for over 100 years, both are family businesses and both are at the quality end of the market.’

“The move marks a major shift for Jung, which has never used distributors in the UK before.

‘That’s been because our products are for the niche market where design and quality matter,’ said export chief Wolfgang Becker of Jung.

‘In Wandsworth we’ve found a partner that we can trust to deliver those values and drive the uptake of our products in the UK.’

Jung controls work on the KNX protocol. ‘The protocol is 20 years old but the UK is around 12 years behind competitors in Europe in terms of installations, which means that many buildings are missing out on the energy savings that KNX can offer.’

Wandsworth is strong in the healthcare market, especially with nurse call products, and the move is seen as opening this up to Jung equipment.
