Newey & Eyre wins major contract

Four year contract secured by electrical wholesaler Newey & Eyre to supply Tata Steel UK

Electrical and lighting products will be supplied to steel manufacturers Tata by Newey & Eyre as part of the company’s inventory and stores optimisation project.

The contract was awarded following analysis by more than 30 Tata engineers, as Newey & Eyre demonstrated commitment to the availability of products and ability to eliminate duplicate purchases. Key to Newey & Eyre’s success was its emphasis on cost saving.

Chris Gibson, Newey & Eyre sales director for, said: ‘We will be working in partnership with Tata UK engineers on seeking ways of improving their manufacturing and operational processes, while improving energy efficiency and in turn helping to keep costs to a minimum.’

Speirs wins lifetime award

The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) has presented Jonathan Speirs with a Lifetime Achievement Award – the highest accolade within Scottish architecture.
