GE Europe announces appointment of commercial director

Simon Greenwood will take the role of commercial director for GE Lighting Europe from 1 January 2012

Greenwood will be responsible for the commercial organisation across Europe, focussing on increasing the company’s market share and customer base.

Greenwood started his career as a sales representative at City Electrical Factors and later joined Rexel Senate as a technical sales engineer. He has rejoined GE from his latest position as group sales director at Dextra Group, one of the largest fixtures business in the UK. He first joined GE Consumer and Industrial in 2007 as sales general manager for UK and Nordic.

His experience also includes positions at Marlin Lighting and Cooper Lighting and Security.

Phil Marshall, GE Lighting EMEA chief, said: ‘During the challenging economic climate and with the global lighting industry transformation underway, it is especially important that we maintain our customer focus and constantly improve our services.

‘I am convinced that our high quality product range and Simon’s experience and thorough knowledge of the market will help us to further expand our penetration in Europe.’
