XAL to restructure Wever & Ducre

XAL says it will restructure the troubled Belgian luminaire manufacturer Wever & Ducre following its purchase last month of most of the company’s assets.

XAL, an architectural fittings maker based in Austria, has taken over all trademarks and design rights, a core team for sales, product management and logistics and an Asian production company.
It says it plans to restructure the Wever & Ducré product range quickly, accelerate the adoption of LEDs and distribute the new range via its worldwide sales network.
The headquarters of Wever & Ducré will stay in Roeselare in Belgium. Andreas Hierzer, owner of XAL, told the press: ‘There is a huge potential of synergies between XAL and Wever & Ducré. We hired great people, got good products, and can pursue our strategy of growth.’
