Middlesbrough Borough Council is using Urbis’ Senso LED for an ME class lighting scheme near the Riverside Stadium Football Ground
This is one of the first schemes of this class in the UK to use LED technology.
Rob Warner, The council’s street lighting engineer, said: ‘We needed to upgrade the lighting around the stadium to white light, mainly to improve the CCTV images, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone.’
He explained that the LEDs could also offer ‘the opportunity to reduce energy consumption’.
