Dialight says the guarantee ‘ensures zero maintenance, unbeatable energy savings and exceptionally low total cost of ownership’. The deal ‘has the potential to be extended to other products’ in Dialight’s range, it said.
The company said: ‘Improvements in LED technology have opened up the possibility of even longer lifetimes with insignificant changes in light output, the problem being how to ensure that the electronics driving the LEDs are as reliable as the LEDs themselves.’
The 10-year warranty relies on Dialight’s new solid-state power supply technology, which is designed to guarantee long-life performance ‘even in the harshest conditions’.
The company, which operates from the US but has its headquarters in the UK, published its half-yearly financial results this week, showing revenues up 18 per cent to £61.1m, with 65 per cent growth in sales of solid-state lighting.
